Milan’s Journey with Smart Dogs
Milan’s journey from a young dog lover to an expert trainer reflects his dedication to making lasting, meaningful change for dogs and their families everywhere.
2001 — A boy and his dream
At just 7 years old, Milan met Diesel, his uncle’s German Shepherd, and instantly formed a bond that would change his life. Spending weeks with Diesel, he dreamed of having a dog of his own to train. Though his family advised him to focus on academics and a stable career first, Milan never lost sight of his passion for dogs and their behaviour.
2018 — Taking the leap
After completing his Engineering degree, Milan welcomed his first puppy, a spirited Belgian Malinois. The journey was challenging, filled with frustration and stress, but also incredibly rewarding. Milan immersed himself in learning—attending classes, online seminars, and reading extensively about canine behaviour—to better understand why dogs act the way they do and how to help them.
Building foundations
Starting with dog walking, Milan gained practical experience working with many breeds and temperaments. He then progressed to one-to-one training sessions, sharpening his skills and deepening his understanding of complex behavioural patterns.
Growing the Business
Initially running board and train programs from his own room, Milan’s success allowed him to expand into a larger home, increasing capacity and refining his approach. He embraced Day Training?)—a method that keeps dogs relaxed and engaged throughout the day, ensuring better learning outcomes.
Broadening impact with a team
Smart Dogs is now powered by a passionate team of skilled trainers dedicated to delivering personalised, science-based training that transforms dogs and their owners’ lives. Milan continues to lead this growing team, committed to helping dogs worldwide overcome challenging behaviours through his Online Training Program.
